The SAM Tech Mission

SAM Tech believes strongly in the education of the professional automotive machinist. The curriculum is structured such that it provides the student with training to meet the demands of today’s work place plus job placement assistance to successfully enter the world of work.

SAM Tech provides flexible learning options with both morning and afternoon classes available to accommodate different schedules.

State of the Art Facilities

16,000 square feet of floor space which includes spacious air-conditioned classrooms, teaching lab, educational resource center, student lounge, faculty and administrative offices.

Military Friendly School

We are approved to train veterans and other eligible persons under the provisions of Title 38, United States Code. We accept Chapter 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 1606, and 1607 recipients.

Job Placement Assistance

We offer comprehensive job search support including basic training, resume development, marketing to employers, and ongoing assistance until you secure employment

Financial Assistance Available

Financial aid opportunities, including grants, loans, and private financing options, are available to qualifying students to help support their educational expenses.

Featured Courses

Automotive Engine/Block Machining

Although the actual machining process will be the emphasis of the program, a thorough education on theory of operation of the modern race engine will be presented. The student will explore the basic theory and concepts of internal combustion engine operation, then move into more specific and complex areas.

Automotive Engine/Cylinder Head Machining

The theory and role of the cylinder head in the engine operation will be thoroughly covered in the classroom. Airflow characteristics and their effect on performance will be highlighted in all areas of this program. Students will learn the how and why of the many components of a cylinder head assembly.

CNC Machining

The objective for the Automotive Engine/CNC Machining program is to qualify the student as a 5-Axis CNC machinist. Graduates will be able to perform CNC machining and CMM operations. The program will include both classroom and hands-on lab instruction.

EFI Calibration

The program objective for the EFI Calibration program is to be capable of calibrating and troubleshooting the Engine Management System on the engine dynamometer, chassis dynamometer and at the race track. This program includes instruction in adding performance accessories, modifying power trains, tuning custom engines, suspension, exhaust systems, and using dynamometers and other diagnostic equipment.

Associate Degree

In addition to the technical courses, students will take Introduction to Communications, College Algebra, Introduction to Physics, English Composition, and Sociology to complete the degree. The program provides an ideal foundation for professional development and continuing higher education.
